We need YOU as a member of the 2025 Flight Crew! 

As a Flight Crew member, you will participate in speaking engagements, attend events, connect with your local STEM community, and be offered opportunities to share your voice through social media content —all to be an enthusiastic spokesperson for STEM!


Those selected to be part of the 2025 Flight Crew will receive 9 months of programming, including communications and advocacy support, mentorship, access to role models and an elite alumni network, targeted career preparation and exploration opportunities, a $500 scholarship upon program completion, and an opportunity to attend unique virtual and in-person speaking and learning engagements!  


Youth ages 13 to18 are invited to apply by March 12, 2025! Youth must be actively engaged in an out-of-school STEM program, like afterschool programs or clubs, summer programs, programs on the weekends, or virtual experiences that meet more than once a year.

Flight Crew applicants must participate- or have participated in- an afterschool, before-school and/or summer program, be between the ages of 13-18 at time of submission, and be willing to share your story with the public. We encourage you to apply if/when you meet those eligibility requirements.

MORE ABOUT YOU- Record a 1 minute video introducing yourself and addressing the following questions: 


Tell us your story- Cover the following three questions in your video: 

  1. How have your experiences with STEM learning outside of the classroom influenced who you are today? 
  2. What challenges are you most interested in solving for your community? 
  3. How do you hope to make an impact in the future through STEM?

Guidance on Filming:

  • Only include your first name and your state (please do NOT include your last name, city or school name).

  • Please film your video horizontally in a quiet space with good lighting.

  • Choose an outfit that makes you feel confident and ready to put your best foot forward. Professionalism looks different for everyone, so choose an outfit that represents you.

  • As we hope to use these videos for your online profile if you are selected, please do not say “And this is why you should select me for the 2024 Flight Crew!” during the video.

    • Please note: this video will not be shared publicly until after the application closes and only if individuals are accepted to the program.

To Finalize your Application for The Flight Crew...
  • Youth under the age of 18 require the permission of a parent/guardian and their e-signature following final submission.
  • By acknowledgment and submission of an application, youth agree to the official rules.
  • By acknowledgment and submission of an application, parents/guardians agree to the official rules.

With the Youth/Applicant and Parent/Guardian’s acknowledgement, there are two steps to finalize your application to the 2025 Flight Crew. After clicking submit, Parents/Guardians or Youth/Applicants over 18 will be prompted to… 

1) Review the complete application

2) Electronically certify the applicant for consideration in the 2025 Flight Crew.

 3) An email will be sent to the parent/guardian or youth applicant over 18. That email will guide them to verify the application.
